AI For Justice Lab

Learning & Action Collaborative

Artificial intelligence apps like ChatGPT and Midjourney have taken the world by storm in the last year. Moving at breakneck speed and known as generative AI, the technology powering these apps raises new business opportunities as well as key questions regarding property rights, privacy, misinformation and more.

While tech executives in Silicon Valley and academics in Ivy League Schools proliferate ethical AI principles and voluntary commitments to manage risks, leading social entrepreneurs are hard at work leveraging AI for Justice.

With ethics at the center of their work, they constitute both an early warning system for the unintended consequences of technology, as well as an innovation engine, constantly building new ways to address both age-old and emerging challenges. There is no more important time than now to pay attention to these bright spots, the lessons they are teaching us about building tech that works for humanity, and the role we can all play.

This is why in partnership with OpenNyAI, we are launching a learning journey for a select group of social entrepreneurs, lawyers, AI experts and business leaders. We will make introductions, hear voices from the field, and take deep dives into all things justice and AI - from building legal large language models, to open-sourcing solutions that democratize access to justice, and partnering with courts.
